Paper Mache

Workshop participants will learn basic paper-mache techniques to build portable sculptures such as fish (Arroyo Chub, Steelhead), coyotes, and birds (egrets).

Movement (Dance)

Through storytelling and sharing our connections to the river, workshop participants will learn movements and songs by Cultural Bearers, the carriers of traditional knowledge who connect communities to their cultural assets and their collective identity.

Inspired by the LA River and its living ecosystem we will collectively create objects and designs that highlight the relationship between humans and all other forms of life such as plants, animals, and water!

All are welcome!

  • Suitable for all ages and skill levels! No previous experience needed.
  • No materials needed – we will provide everything.
  • Kids under 12 must be accompanied.
